- Work with multiple engineering teams to understand data flows, integrations, and downstream system impacts.
- Develop efficient algorithms to identify patterns and relationships across large datasets.
- Build and maintain ETL and data-processing solutions using AWS and distributed technologies.
- Work with Apache Spark and AWS big-data services.
- Develop solutions using AWS Glue and Athena.
- Work with Presto and/or Trino for large-scale data querying and processing.
- Understand and troubleshoot data connections, integrations, and end-to-end data flows.
- Collaborate with engineering and business teams to develop scalable data-intensive solutions.
- Utilize Generative AI tools for software development and code generation.
- Contribute to solutions where GenAI is incorporated directly into the application/system, not only used as a developer productivity tool.
Required Skills
- Strong software/application engineering background
- Strong Java and/or Python development experience
- Strong AWS experience
- Hands-on experience with:
- AWS Glue
- AWS Athena
- Apache Spark
- ETL / data processing
- Presto and/or Trino
- AWS big-data services
- Strong understanding of data flows, integrations, and data connections
- Strong algorithmic and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with large datasets and distributed systems
- Experience with Generative AI / GenAI
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, multi-team environment
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Software Engineer with strong data engineering capabilities, rather than someone focused exclusively on traditional ETL or data pipelines.
Candidates should be comfortable moving between:
Software Engineering → Algorithms → Data Processing → AWS → Distributed Systems → GenAI
Experience building data-intensive applications and working with large-scale distributed data systems will be highly valued.
