Pay Range: $95 - $100/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript
- Build and maintain GraphQL and REST APIs (server-side development required)
- Develop middleware to manage communication between applications and devices / networked systems
- Work on real-time and event-driven systems, ensuring efficient data flow and performance
- Optimize backend services for low latency and high reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system behavior from UI to device-level interactions
- Contribute to scalable architecture and reusable platform design
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Key skills; Nodejs, API, Typescript, GraphQL, system design, IoT/device communication exp, Low-latency, distributed system, performance optimization, real-time data handling.
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript (backend development)
- Proven experience building GraphQL APIs (server-side, schema design, resolvers)
- Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, event loop, and system fundamentals
- Experience designing and implementing REST APIs
- Experience with distributed systems or event-driven architectures
- Ability to explain and demonstrate real project work (no generic or template-based experience)
- Experience working with real-time systems or performance-critical applications
- Exposure to device communication, IoT, or networking systems
- Experience with C++ or embedded systems
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred)
- Basic frontend exposure (Angular/React) is a plus, but not required
- Important Notes:
- This role requires hands-on backend engineers, not UI-focused developers
- Candidates must be able to clearly explain their project experience and technical decisions
- Experience limited to consuming APIs (without building them) will not be sufficient
