Position Summary 

We are seeking a client-facing Digital Manufacturing Solutions Consultant / Siemens Opcenter MES Consultant to help industrial organizations improve production operations through Manufacturing Execution System (MES) implementations, connected IT/OT architectures, and digital-transformation initiatives. 

This remote position combines MES and APS functional consulting, manufacturing-process expertise, solution architecture, implementation delivery, and pre-sales support. The successful candidate will work with customers to assess manufacturing needs, design practical solutions, and implement Siemens Opcenter capabilities that improve traceability, quality, production visibility, process consistency, and operational performance. 

The role is remote within the United States, with periodic domestic travel to customer locations for discovery workshops, shop-floor assessments, solution-design sessions, testing, training, go-live, and hypercare support. Travel can vary by project phase and may increase around deployment and production go-live activities. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead customer discovery workshops with operations, manufacturing engineering, quality, supply chain, IT, and executive stakeholders. 

• Assess current-state manufacturing processes, systems, data flows, pain points, and improvement opportunities; define future-state MES processes and requirements. 

• Design, configure, implement, test, deploy, and support Siemens Opcenter MES solutions. 

• Deliver MES capabilities such as production execution, electronic work instructions, dispatching, routing, WIP tracking, resource management, material consumption, product genealogy, lot and serial traceability, quality inspections, nonconformance, rework, and production reporting. 

• Support solution designs involving OEE, downtime capture, equipment data collection, production performance reporting, and shop-floor visibility. 

• Define integration requirements between Opcenter and ERP, PLM, warehouse, quality, automation, SCADA, historian, and cloud/data platforms. 

• Collaborate with technical and automation teams on interfaces, APIs, master-data synchronization, equipment connectivity, machine-state data, and IT/OT security requirements. 

• Produce functional specifications, process maps, solution-design documents, configuration workbooks, test scripts, training material, cutover plans, and deployment documentation. 

• Lead or support system integration testing, user-acceptance testing, production readiness, go-live, and post-production hypercare. 

• Support continuous improvement initiatives involving quality, traceability, productivity, labor efficiency, cycle time, schedule adherence, scrap, rework, and throughput. 

• Participate in pre-sales activities, including customer presentations, solution demonstrations, discovery sessions, proposals, estimates, scopes of work, and digital-manufacturing roadmaps. 

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. 

• 3+ years of experience in MES, manufacturing systems, manufacturing operations, automation, quality systems, or digital-manufacturing consulting. 

• Hands-on experience with Siemens Opcenter or another enterprise MES platform. 

• Working knowledge of manufacturing execution functions, including production execution, work instructions, routing, WIP, traceability, genealogy, quality, materials, resources, and reporting. 

• Experience gathering requirements and creating process maps, functional requirements, solution designs, test documentation, training materials, and implementation deliverables. 

• Understanding MES integration requirements involving ERP, PLM, quality systems, warehouse systems, automation, SCADA, industrial data historians, and reporting platforms. 

• Strong workshop-facilitation, analytical, written communication, presentation, and client-facing consulting skills. 

• Ability to communicate effectively with shop-floor users, manufacturing and quality leadership, IT teams, automation engineers, and executive stakeholders. 

• Willingness and ability to travel domestically to customer locations, up to 50% depending on project requirements. 

• This role may support customer projects subject to U.S. export-control requirements, including ITAR. Employment is contingent upon the candidate’s ability to meet applicable export-control eligibility requirements.   

Preferred Qualifications 

• Siemens Opcenter experience with Opcenter Execution Core, Opcenter X, Opcenter Quality, Opcenter APS, and Industrial Edge. 

• Experience integrating MES with SAP, Oracle, Infor XA, Teamcenter, warehouse systems, SCADA, PLCs, industrial gateways, or manufacturing-data platforms. 

• Familiarity with SQL Server, Oracle, APIs, REST/SOAP services, XML, JSON, message-based integration, and cloud integration patterns. 

• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, Snowflake, manufacturing analytics, Power BI, Tableau, data historians, or industrial IoT architectures. 

• Experience with regulated industries such as aerospace and defense, medical device, life sciences, food and beverage, automotive, or high-tech manufacturing. 

• Experience in consulting, systems integration, enterprise software implementation, technical pre-sales, or digital-manufacturing solution delivery.
