Job Title : Senior Statistical Programmer (R)

**Position Overview**
The client is seeking a highly skilled Programmer / Quantitative Analyst to support federal reporting initiatives for Mississippi Child Protective Services (MS CPS).
This role will focus on modernizing, validating, and redeveloping statistical reporting processes using current industry standards. The selected contractor will serve as an individual contributor responsible for researching, developing, testing, documenting, and deploying statistical models in R.
This position requires strong statistical expertise, hands-on R programming experience, and the ability to translate complex technical findings into clear documentation and presentations for stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
Rewrite and modernize legacy coding and reporting processes using current industry standards
Develop, validate, and deploy robust statistical reporting models in R
Conduct development, back-testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment
Ensure data validation, quality assurance, and audit trail development
Document business rules, methodologies, and revision history
Produce high-quality technical documentation and stakeholder presentations
Collaborate with functional and technical consultants to ensure successful model implementation
Maintain reproducible workflows and version control best practices
Support regulatory and federal reporting compliance requirements
**Required Qualifications**
Candidates must demonstrate the following minimum experience on their resume to be considered:
Technical Expertise
R Programming / R Development – 5+ years (hands-on experience required)
RStudio – 5+ years
SQL (SQL Manager & SQL Language) – 5+ years
Statistical Modeling & Data Analysis – 5+ years
Experience developing and validating statistical reporting models
Experience with development, back-testing, deployment, and UAT
Experience rewriting legacy code using modern standards
Strong documentation and model governance practices

ADABAS/Natural – 1+ year

**Education**
