Position Overview
We are seeking a QA Analyst to support enterprise-level application testing initiatives within a State Government environment. This role involves validating, verifying, and ensuring the quality of mission-critical applications that support both public-facing and internal systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing test strategies, identifying defects, and ensuring applications meet functional, performance, and security requirements.
The selected resource will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role requires strong experience in manual and automated testing, test case design, defect tracking, and working within structured environments that follow compliance and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing of web-based and enterprise applications.
• Identify, document, and track defects using standard defect tracking tools and ensure timely resolution.
• Collaborate with developers and business analysts to understand application functionality and clarify requirements.
• Validate APIs and backend services using tools such as Postman or similar technologies.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts where applicable to improve test efficiency and coverage.
• Perform database validation by writing and executing SQL queries to ensure data integrity.
• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) support and coordinate with stakeholders for validation.
• Ensure compliance with state security policies, audit requirements, and quality standards.
• Prepare detailed test reports, metrics, and documentation for stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Support release validation and deployment activities to ensure production readiness.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
• Strong experience in manual testing and test case design methodologies.
• Experience testing web applications, APIs, and enterprise systems.
• Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.
• Strong knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend testing.
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments.
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
• Experience in creating and maintaining test documentation and reports.
• Ability to analyze requirements and ensure complete test coverage.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
• Experience working in Microsoft Azure or cloud-based environments.
• Prior experience supporting State Government or Public Sector projects.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration testing within DevOps environments.
• Understanding of OWASP security testing principles.
• Experience with data migration testing and large-scale system modernization projects.
