Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Technical System Analyst SaaS Upgrade to execute upgrades of investment management systems for SaaS clients. The role focuses on environment provisioning, system configuration, application deployment, troubleshooting, system integration, and validation throughout the complete upgrade lifecycle.
The Technical System Analyst will work in a hands-on technical capacity to ensure stable, high-quality system delivery while supporting clients from upgrade planning through production go-live. The role follows a rolling variant of the Blue-Green Deployment methodology, where new environments are provisioned, validated, and transitioned into production, followed by the decommissioning of legacy environments due to platform and operating system version dependencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure and deploy client environments across CRIMS / OMS platforms.
Execute end-to-end SaaS system upgrades, including application deployment, batch configuration, and system integrations.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across batch processes, interfaces, configurations, and system performance.
Perform detailed log analysis, diagnostics, and root cause investigations for technical issues and system defects.
Support system testing, validation, production readiness, and go-live activities.
Assess client infrastructure and technical environments for upgrade compatibility and readiness.
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define technical requirements, system dependencies, and delivery plans.
Develop and execute detailed upgrade plans, including timelines, resource requirements, dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies.
Lead technical implementation activities, including installation, configuration, deployment, and environment validation.
Coordinate with development and QA teams to ensure smooth system transitions and timely issue resolution during upgrades.
Implement deployment approaches designed to minimize system downtime and disruption to client operations.
Ensure adherence to quality standards, technical best practices, and operational procedures throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Act as the primary technical contact during upgrade activities and manage technical issues and stakeholder communications.
Escalate complex technical issues and system-level failures to appropriate engineering and development teams.
Document technical processes, solutions, upgrade procedures, and lessons learned to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
5+ years of relevant technical or industry experience.
Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and root cause analysis skills.
Hands-on experience with MS SQL Server and/or Sybase.
Strong understanding of batch processing, job scheduling, and system integrations.
Familiarity with infrastructure components, including servers, operating systems, and monitoring tools.
Experience in financial services, investment management, or trading systems.
Experience or knowledge of CRIMS / OMS platforms, with CRIMS experience preferred.
Exposure to networking and infrastructure technologies.
Experience with scripting and programming languages.
Working knowledge of XML.
Experience with job scheduling tools and monitoring platforms.
Understanding of Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity practices.
Experience supporting SaaS application upgrades and deployments.
Understanding of Blue-Green Deployment methodologies.
Strong technical problem-solving skills with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
Ability to work independently within a defined delivery scope.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional development, QA, project management, and client teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Financial Engineering, Engineering, Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical or analytical discipline.
Prior experience with CRIMS (Charles River Investment Management Solution).
Experience supporting investment management or trading technology platforms.
Experience managing complex SaaS upgrade and environment migration projects.
Knowledge of production deployment strategies focused on minimal downtime and operational continuity.
