We are seeking a
senior-level BI professional to serve as the
technical owner of our Microsoft reporting and analytics platforms. This role is critical to ensuring the
stability, security, governance, and long-term health of our enterprise BI environment while enabling scalable, trusted analytics across the organization.
This position blends
platform administration, security coordination, and senior-level BI development, and partners closely with security, infrastructure, and data teams to deliver reliable Microsoft-based analytical solutions at enterprise scale.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Ownership & Administration
- Own the installation, configuration, administration, patching, and lifecycle management of enterprise BI and reporting platforms
- Serve as the primary liaison between BI and security teams, ensuring compliance with internal security and governance standards
- Administer and support:
- SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS - Tabular)
- SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Power BI Gateway (on-prem and hybrid)
- Power BI Service tenant settings, capacities, and governance controls
Data Platform Enablement
- Integrate and support Power BI Dataflows within governed enterprise reporting architectures
- Enable analytics solutions backed by Data Warehouses and Data Lakes
- Ensure reporting assets align with enterprise data standards, lineage, and certification practices
Automation & Operational Excellence
- Develop and maintain PowerShell automation for deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and administration
- Automate BI platform operations across Azure and on-prem/hybrid environments
- Reduce operational risk through standardization, proactive monitoring, and documented best practices
Analytics & Semantic Modeling
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale SSAS tabular models
- Build and support Power BI datasets and reports used across the organization
- Develop paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder for operational and executive reporting needs
Preferred / Added Advantage Experience
- Planning and executing Power BI tenant-to-tenant migrations, including:
- Workspace, dataset, report, and app migration
- Power BI Gateway reconfiguration and validation
- Security model, role mapping, and access validation
- Capacity and tenant-setting alignment
- Partnering with security, identity, and infrastructure teams (Azure AD, service principals, permissions)
- Post-migration validation of performance, refresh reliability, and access controls
- Experience using Power BI APIs, scripting, deployment pipelines, or custom tooling for automation and migration
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in BI, analytics, or data platform engineering
- Deep expertise with Microsoft BI technologies (Power BI, SSAS, SSRS)
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience
- Experience operating BI platforms in regulated or security-conscious environments
- Ability to operate as a senior individual contributor and platform owner
