Salary Range: $83,000 - $128,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Paw Paw that are seeking Embedded Systems Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and test firmware for new manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and debug existing embedded systems on production lines.
• Design and implement hardware interfaces for sensors and actuators.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers on system integration.
• Optimize embedded software for performance, reliability, and power consumption.
• Perform root cause analysis on embedded system failures and implement corrective actions.
• Document design specifications, test plans, and validation reports for embedded systems.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in embedded software development for manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for microcontroller programming and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET).
• Demonstrated ability in hardware-software integration and debugging for production systems.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) beyond basic microcontroller-based systems.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherCAT, PROFINET, Modbus).
• Demonstrated ability to debug and troubleshoot complex hardware/software interactions in a production environment.
• Knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508) and their application in embedded systems.
