Summary

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Job Description:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and industrial automation systems. This role involves end-to-end software development from analysis and design to deployment and support while collaborating closely with Manufacturing Automation Engineers.
  • The ideal candidate is curious, proactive, collaborative, and capable of solving complex problems in an autonomous team environment. This is a hands-on technical role that also requires periodic on-site travel to manufacturing facilities for system implementation and support.


Responsibilities:
1. Software Development Lifecycle

  • Perform requirement analysis, solution design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable applications.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following software craftsmanship principles.
  • Participate in code reviews and continuously improve development practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.

2. Cloud & DevOps Engineering

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS.
  • Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines using DevOps best practices.
  • Deploy and manage serverless architectures, including AWS Lambda.
  • Handle source code management using GitHub (branching strategies, pull requests, etc.).
  • Manage access control using IAM roles and permissions.

3. Integration & API Management

  • Develop and manage integrations using MuleSoft.
  • Implement API Gateway solutions such as Ocelot.
  • Ensure secure and scalable communication between systems and services.

4. Industrial Automation & IoT Systems

  • Work with Manufacturing Automation teams to integrate software with OT (Operational Technology) systems.
  • Configure and manage message queues for real-time data processing.
  • Connect to industrial data sources using topics and tags to consume and process data.
  • Work with industrial automation platforms such as Siemens S7 and Allen-Bradley systems.
  • Implement and maintain Unified Namespace architectures for data standardization.
  • Support IoT-based data acquisition, monitoring, and analytics.

5. Collaboration & Innovation

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including automation engineers, DevOps, and product teams.
  • Challenge existing solutions and propose innovative improvements.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection.

6. On-Site Support & Travel

  • Travel to manufacturing sites as required to support deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Work directly with automation engineers during implementation phases.
  • Manage travel logistics (vehicle rental, expense submission as per company policy).


Experience:

  • Strong experience with AWS (setup, deployment, monitoring, and management)
  • Proficiency in DevOps tools and CI/CD pipeline implementation
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda (setup and troubleshooting)
  • Expertise in GitHub and version control workflows
  • Experience managing IAM roles and permissions
  • Strong knowledge of MuleSoft for integrations
  • Experience with Ocelot API Gateway

Skills:

  • Understanding of message queue systems (e.g., MQTT, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Experience connecting to industrial data sources (topics/tags)
  • Knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC systems
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley systems and Unified Namespace architecture
  • Exposure to Industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions



Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
