AV Commissioning Specialist Direct HireOverviewTEKsystems is seeking an experienced
AV Commissioning Specialist to support commercial audiovisual deployments across New Hampshire and the Greater Boston area. This role is ideal for a hands-on AV professional who enjoys field work, complex system troubleshooting, and ensuring newly installed AV solutions are fully optimized and ready for end-user handoff.
The AV Commissioning Specialist will play a critical role in validating system performance, resolving technical issues, and partnering with project teams to deliver high-quality AV solutions to commercial clients.
Responsibilities- Commission, test, and validate commercial AV systems including conferencing solutions, control systems, displays, audio systems, and networked AV components
- Perform system calibration, DSP adjustments, and final tuning to ensure optimal audio and video performance
- Review engineering documentation, signal flow diagrams, and project specifications to confirm system accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with installation teams, project managers, and engineers to identify and resolve technical issues
- Troubleshoot AV hardware, software, and network-related issues in live commercial environments
- Complete commissioning documentation including punch lists, test results, and system reports
- Support end-user training and system handoff as required
- Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach while working on site with clients
- Ensure all work adheres to industry standards, safety requirements, and quality guidelines
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of experience commissioning commercial AV systems
- Strong understanding of AV signal flow, networking fundamentals, and system integration best practices
- Hands-on experience with AV platforms such as Crestron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Extron, Dante, and Microsoft Teams / Zoom Rooms
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and design documentation
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network layers
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with customers
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally
Preferred Qualifications- Industry certifications including CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, Crestron DMC-E, Q-SYS Level 2+, Biamp Tesira, or Dante Level 2/3
- Experience working with commercial AV integrators or enterprise-level AV deployments
- Familiarity with construction environments and jobsite coordination
