Summary

We are seeking an experienced Principal Data Scientist to lead the development and deployment of advanced forecasting models for load demand and renewable energy generation, including solar and wind. This role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making across energy management, trading, and system operations functions.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end model lifecycle, from research and development to production deployment. This includes feature engineering, integration of weather data via APIs, model optimization, and performance monitoring. The role also involves building scalable, production-ready solutions using cloud-based infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on reliability, automation, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in data science and machine learning, with a focus on time-series forecasting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, and statsmodels.
  • Proven experience developing and deploying forecasting models (e.g., ARIMA, SARIMAX, gradient boosting).
  • Strong experience with production deployment, including model versioning, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Experience integrating APIs and external data sources, especially weather data.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS) including EC2, S3, Lambda, and SageMaker.
  • Proficiency in SQL and handling large-scale datasets.
  • Experience building dashboards using Streamlit, Plotly, or similar tools.
