Position SummaryThe Desktop Support Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, deployment, and ongoing support of end-user workstations and related technology equipment. This role ensures employees have properly configured and functional devices by providing hands-on technical support, workstation setup services, equipment refreshes, and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and peripheral devices. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and experienced in delivering white-glove support to end users.
Key Responsibilities- Configure, image, deploy, and support desktop computers, laptops, monitors, docking stations, and peripheral devices.
- Perform new hire workstation setups, office moves, and equipment installations to ensure users are fully operational on their first day.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems, software applications, and endpoint security tools.
- Set up and support printers, scanners, webcams, headsets, and other desktop peripherals.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support for end-user hardware and software issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve workstation performance, connectivity, and application-related problems.
- Perform hardware replacements, upgrades, and equipment refresh activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of desktop equipment, accessories, and assigned assets.
- Execute workstation lifecycle management activities, including deployment, relocation, recovery, and retirement of devices.
- Collaborate with Service Desk, Infrastructure, and Security teams to resolve escalated technical issues.
- Create and maintain documentation for workstation setup procedures, troubleshooting guides, and technical standards.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and asset management processes.
- Support conference room technology, audiovisual equipment, and meeting space workstation needs as required.
- Adhere to established service level agreements (SLAs) and customer service standards.
- Provide one-on-one support and training to end users regarding hardware, software, and productivity tools.
Required Qualifications- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of Desktop Support, IT Support, or End User Computing experience.
- Experience deploying and configuring Windows-based desktops and laptops.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and endpoint management tools.
- Experience supporting desktop hardware, printers, monitors, docking stations, and mobile devices.
- Familiarity with imaging, deployment, and asset management processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with SCCM, Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, or similar endpoint management platforms.
- Knowledge of hardware deployment and device lifecycle management best practices.
- Experience supporting enterprise workstation refresh projects.
- CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or related technical certifications.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
