Database Administrator to join a collaborative, enterprise-level technical team. In this role, you'll work with a variety of relational and spatial database platforms, help shape secure and efficient data architectures, and support mission-critical applications used across a large statewide environment.

What You'll DoAs a key member of the database administration team, you will:
- Ensure application architectures, data dictionaries, and schemas align with organizational and GIS standards.
- Design, develop, modify, and optimize database schemas across multiple platforms.
- Apply principles of relational and data-warehouse design to support a wide range of systems.
- Collaborate with technical teams to create secure and efficient data architectures.
- Support enterprise-level database environments and troubleshoot complex issues with minimal assistance.
- Contribute to planning, documentation, and best practices for data governance.
- Mentor junior staff and support cross-functional project efforts.
Top Skills Needed1. Relational & Spatial Database ExpertiseExperience working with major RDBMS platforms such as:
- SQL Server
- Oracle
- PostgreSQL
- Spatial databases (e.g., ESRI SDE)
2. Advanced Troubleshooting & Problem ResolutionAbility to independently analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex database issues in fast-paced enterprise environments.
3. GIS & Spatial TechnologyHands-on experience with:
- ArcGIS Server
- ArcGIS Enterprise
- Cloud-hosted GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS Online, Azure integrations)
Nice-to-Have Skills- Experience managing ArcGIS environments
- Exposure to Azure SQL or cloud-based data architectures
- Familiarity with enterprise security and data governance standards
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of combined database administration experience across required platforms
- Strong communication, planning, and customer service abilities
- Ability to interpret and produce complex technical documentation
- Experience working with multidisciplinary technical teams
- Core competencies in initiative, flexibility, leadership, decision-making, and relationship building
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Tallahassee, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.
