AV Service TechnicianLocation: Greater Connecticut / Massachusetts

OverviewTEKsystems is seeking an experienced AV Service Technician to support a well-known national AV integrator serving corporate enterprise clients. This role requires hands-on experience from an integration company background with strong skills in AV troubleshooting, network diagnostics, and software configuration. You will respond to service tickets in executive boardrooms, corporate conference centers, and enterprise collaboration spaces throughout the greater Connecticut and Massachusetts region.

Key Responsibilities- Respond to service tickets in corporate enterprise environments and provide expert AV system troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and resolve AV-related network issues including IP conflicts, VLAN configuration, multicast routing, and bandwidth problems.
- Troubleshoot software and firmware issues across control systems, DSPs, and collaboration platforms.
- Service and support enterprise AV technologies including:
- Crestron control systems (DM, NVX, touch panels, processors)
- AMX and Extron control platforms
- Biamp and QSC audio DSP systems
- Dante audio networking
- Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and Cisco collaboration endpoints
- AV-over-IP systems (SDVoE, Crestron NVX, etc.)
- Corporate video conferencing and unified communication systems
- Displays, projectors, video walls, and digital signage
- Perform software updates, configuration changes, and system optimization.
- Work with IT teams to resolve network and integration issues.
- Document service activities and provide detailed technical reports.
Required Technical SkillsStrong AV, network troubleshooting, and software skills are essential:
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting corporate AV systems in live enterprise environments.
- Strong network troubleshooting skills: diagnosing IP addressing issues, VLAN problems, switch configuration, multicast, and QoS.
- Software troubleshooting experience with control system platforms (Crestron, AMX, Extron).
- Ability to work within DSP software environments (Biamp Tesira, QSC Q-SYS) for configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with collaboration platform software (Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Webex).
- Understanding of AV signal flow, EDID management, HDCP, and AV-over-IP protocols.
- Ability to use network diagnostic tools (ping, traceroute, Wireshark, etc.).
- Comfortable reading system documentation, network diagrams, and technical drawings.
Soft Skills- Professional communication with corporate clients and executive-level users.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service tickets.
- Strong problem-solving skills in high-pressure corporate environments.
- Customer-focused mindset with commitment to service excellence.
- Collaborative approach when working with IT departments and project teams.
Travel- Daily travel within the greater Connecticut and Massachusetts area is required.
- You will return home each night; no overnight travel expected.
- A personal vehicle is required; mileage and work-related travel expenses are reimbursed.
Experience & Certifications- Must have integration company background: 3-5 years of AV field service experience with a corporate AV integrator.
- Proven experience supporting corporate enterprise AV environments.
- Strong track record in AV troubleshooting, network diagnostics, and software configuration.
- AV certifications are a huge plus: CTS, CTS-I, Crestron Certified, Biamp Certified, QSC Certified, Dante Certification, Extron Certified, or other manufacturer-specific credentials.
- Networking certifications (Network+, CCNA) are also valued.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
