What Makes Someone Successful
This is a strategic architecture role for a technology leader who can see the big picture across the IT ecosystem, guide enterprise technology direction, and help shape future-state architecture rather than serve as a day-to-day engineer or software developer
Manager Notes
Here is the one line :
Seeking a senior Enterprise Architect with a strong infrastructure and networking foundation who can operate across all IT domains, drive architectural governance, create technical standards, and lead complex enterprise initiatives from strategy through delivery.
After speaking with the hiring manager, it became clear that this is not a traditional cloud-focused or application architecture role. The ideal candidate is a seasoned enterprise technologist with a strong infrastructure and networking foundation who can operate across all IT domains, including cloud, security, applications, integrations, and data. The role is approximately 95% hands-off-keyboard and centers around architecture governance, documentation, solution reviews, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring projects are successfully delivered from concept through implementation. Rather than being the deepest technical expert in a single area, this individual must understand the fundamentals across the entire technology landscape, ask the right questions, work closely with principal engineers, and serve as the connective tissue between IT teams while maintaining architectural standards and guardrails throughout the project lifecycle. Healthcare and Epic experience are helpful, but broad enterprise architecture experience, infrastructure knowledge, and the ability to drive complex initiatives to completion are the highest priorities.
They''''re looking for an experienced ''''octopus architect'''' who has tentacles into every IT discipline, understands enough to challenge engineers and ask the right questions, but is not expected to be the person building or coding the solution.
