Software Engineer (JOB ID 1916)

OneSparQ is looking for a Software Engineer in the development of embedded motor control software for a military control valve system. The software operates on a controller that manages precise valve actuation in demanding aerospace and defense environments. The work follows safety-critical software standards (DO-178B) and environmental qualification standards (DO-160 / MIL-STD-810).

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop embedded motor control software in C++ for military aerospace applications.
• Support safety-critical software development in accordance with DO-178B standards.
• Implement and execute unit and integration testing, supporting verification and validation activities.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure software quality, reliability, and compliance.
• Maintain software documentation, requirements traceability, and test evidence throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members, including systems, hardware, and quality engineers.
• Assist with integration, troubleshooting, and defect resolution in an onsite development environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software processes, tools, and best practices.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years embedded software experience
• Proficient in building DoD/Aerospace applications.  
• Exposure to regulated software environments

Additional Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering
• Proficient in C++: Rust, C, Go (Golang), C#, Java, Ada, D, or Carbon
