Oracle DBA with Cassandra - Hybrid ()

Job Description

Looking for a database engineer with 5+ years experience who will be responsible to task that keeps the platform stable to mitigate overall platform risk.

Key Requirements

• Must have the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems quickly and communicate proposed solutions
• Ability to provide coaching to jr. team mates
• Will be a liaison between technology and business teams

Responsibilities

• Participate in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle
• Utilize multiple architectural components in design and development of client requirements
• Collaborate with development teams to understand data requirements and ensure the data architecture is feasible to implement and subsequently implemented accurately
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional requirements
• Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, data quality controls, dependency and workload management
• Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality
• Adhere to team delivery/release process and cadence pertaining to code deployment and release
• Identify gaps in data management standards adherence, and work with appropriate partners to develop plans to close gaps
• Lead concept and experimentation testing and synthesize the results to validate and improve analytical solution
• Monitor key performance indicators and internal controls
• Mentor more junior Data Engineers and coach the team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack

Primary Skill

The primary skill is Oracle but No SQL (Cassandra) is a must. Oracle Cassandra and No SQL database experience is a must.

Required Qualifications

• Position requires strong Oracle database skills
• Able to troubleshoot and tune SQL performance issues
• Experience with Cassandra/CQL/DataStax tools
• Firm understanding of the core concepts of Cassandra and able to assist with troubleshooting problems
• Experience with Oracle Golden Gate replication technology
• Experience with IBM''s DataStage a plus
• Experience with the development models such as Agile and SDLC
• Experience in data management best practices
• Some Project management skills required
• Knowledge and experience with performance tuning SQL
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn both new and aging technologies as needed
• Detail orientated
