Job Description
We are seeking a Software Design Engineer in Test 1 to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual and exploratory testing, build validation, and defect reporting and a proven ability to execute test scripts, analyze results, and help ensure product quality prior to release.
Top 3 Skills:
1.) Minimum 1-2 years experience with testing in tools such as Fiddler
2.) Minimum 1-2 years experience with webapps and testing in web browsers
3.) Minimum 1-2 years experience with testing on Android and IOS devices.
Responsibilities:
- Execute prewritten manual test scripts and document outcomes.
- Run automated test tools when applicable and analyze results.
- Perform exploratory testing, bug bashes, and build validation.
- Identify, reproduce, and report product anomalies with clear detail.
- Support basic computer configuration and application compatibility testing.
- Collaborate with senior Testers and cross-functional partners to validate readiness for release.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency with basic word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Demonstrated investigative and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new information and tools quickly.
- Clear written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree, technical training certification, Associate's degree, or equivalent work experience/training.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with the product lifecycle and release processes.
- Experience with testing tools such as Fiddler.
- Prior experience in Agile or Scrum environments.
- Previous experience in large-scale consumer identity or authentication testing.
Role Details
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. No overtime expected.
- Remote: Fully remote. Candidate must be located in Redmond, WA for device pickup.
- Equipment: Supplier provides standard equipment such as laptop, mouse, headset, and extra monitor.
- Assessment: One to two rounds of hard skills assessment. Scheduling to begin ASAP.
- Extension: Possible extension based on quarterly budget.
