POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Information Technology (IT) Manager, the Network Administrator Infrastructure Systems is responsible for planning, installing, supporting, and administrating the Center's infrastructure including LAN, WAN, Internet/Intranet, Azure/Active Directory, and M365 Suite. Ensures operation and availability of the Center's systems, providing User support and guidance to other IT staff. Responsible for scripting and reporting generation in response to public record requests and delivery of project tasks against project plans in support of Project Managers/Coordinators. Supports the IT Manager with all aspects of the Regional Center computing operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent is required to have a strong aptitude in managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure issues within a matrixed environment. Will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the functionality and industry-standard operation of servers, switches, routers, and firewalls, as well as proven experience in planning, communicating, coordinating, assessing technical issues, and implementing effective solutions. The candidate will possess strong hands-on technical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with vendors and IT staff to diagnose and resolve problems.
In addition, position requires solid knowledge of computer logic to perform tasks listed under principal duties and responsibilities, and hands-on experience and advanced knowledge of topology to run virtual and physical environments and troubleshoot malfunctions. The incumbent will also possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work within a diverse workforce, and be responsible for training others in computer systems and effectively communicating problems with supervisors as they become known.
An associate’s degree in an information technology related field is required and a bachelor’s degree in an information technology-related field is highly preferred. In addition, certifications in Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE); A+ Network Certification; Cisco or Juniper Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are highly desirable, combined with a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Administrator on a medium to large sized network of virtual and physical infrastructure; including routers, switches, firewalls, and cloud environments.
Must have a valid California Driver’s license, current automobile insurance and access to reliable transportation.
