Summary

Location: Waterloo, IA Salary: $33.00 USD Hourly - $45.00 USD Hourly Description: Our client is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Waterloo, IA
Duration: 24 Months (Possible Extension)

Key Responsibilities
  • Support manufacturing and distribution operations with a focus on process optimization, quality enhancement, and productivity improvement.
  • Conduct time studies, work measurement analyses, and labor evaluations to support incentive compensation programs, including the Continuous Improvement Pay Plan (CIPP).
  • Develop, implement, and refine manufacturing processes, methods, tooling, and equipment designs to improve operational performance.
  • Collaborate in preventive maintenance initiatives and assist with facility-related operational improvements.
  • Create and maintain clear, accurate process documentation, work instructions, and technical reports.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify issues, implement solutions, and drive continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide hands-on shop floor support, troubleshooting manufacturing challenges and ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Analyze operational data and prepare reports using Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools.
  • Maintain flexibility in work schedules to support business and production requirements as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience; however, entry level candidates with relevant internship, co-op, or project experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and distribution processes, quality systems, tooling, process improvement, and facility operations.
  • Experience conducting time studies, labor standards analysis, and work measurement activities.
  • Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with production teams, engineering groups, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to spend approximately 60% of the workday standing and working on the manufacturing floor.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. when required.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Hands-on experience supporting production environments and driving operational efficiencies.
