Safety & Ergonomics Coordinator (Entry-Level)

This is an entry-level position within the Safety and Ergonomics function. The role involves performing structured assignments that require the analysis and interpretation of data, regulations, and workplace conditions to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions. The position also provides technical support for ergonomics initiatives and operates under general supervision.
Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and analyze data, documentation, and correspondence to support compliance with safety regulations and organizational health, safety, and environmental management system requirements.
  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify non-compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participate in incident investigations and ergonomic evaluations, assisting in the development and implementation of effective corrective actions.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to appropriate teams to promote awareness and support corrective or preventive actions.
  • Perform ergonomic assessments and analyses of products, processes, packaging, equipment, tools, workstations, and manufacturing methods.
  • Assess ergonomic and safety risks associated with new or relocated equipment and recommend improvements to minimize workplace hazards.
  • Deliver ergonomics and safety training to supervisors, operators, and other employees.
  • Document corrective actions, improvement plans, and ergonomic initiatives to support continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
  • Degree, diploma, or certificate in Safety, Ergonomics, Occupational Health, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), or a related field.
  • Engineering or other technical education/training will also be considered.
  • entry level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret regulations, analyze data, and provide practical recommendations in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of workplace safety principles, risk assessment methodologies, and ergonomics fundamentals.
  • Experience conducting audits, investigations, or ergonomic evaluations through academic projects, internships, or prior work experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and support continuous improvement initiatives.
