Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Business Analyst - Commodities Trading Technology for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in Midtown, New York, NY. Hybrid: 2-3 days/week in the office. We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the Commodities Technology team within Global Trading Solutions. This role will focus on Agricultural and Soft Commodities trading and risk management, working closely with Front Office, Quants, Market Risk, and Technology teams to deliver critical trading platform enhancements and support ongoing initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting commodities trading platforms (Endur and/or Murex), with a solid understanding of both financial and physical commodities workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with Front Office Sales, Traders, and Quant teams to gather and refine business requirements
- Capture and document detailed requirements across agricultural commodities trading, including financial, physical, listed, OTC, and funding products
- Collaborate with Technology teams to define scope, estimate effort, and support delivery within an Agile/Scrum framework
- Facilitate communication across Front Office, Risk, Middle Office, Back Office, and downstream stakeholders
- Define test cases, support UAT, and validate features prior to production release
- Provide post-production support and assist in resolving critical issues as needed
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst supporting commodities trading platforms
- Solid understanding of Agricultural / Soft Commodities markets and dynamics
- Experience with major exchanges such as ICE, CBOT, CME
- Strong knowledge of derivatives and OTC products (futures, forwards, options, average price products)
- Understanding of physical commodities workflows including inventory, leasing, financing, and logistics
- Hands-on experience with Endur and/or Murex, including:
- Trade capture and contract setup
- Market data and curve configuration
- Simulation and EOD processing
- Data extraction and ingestion
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivots, macros)
- Experience working in Agile environments using Jira and Scrum boards
