Job Description:
Apex Systems is hiring for a Senior IT Project Manager for a major Healthcare company.

Location: Fully remote anywhere in the United States but CST preferred.

Employment Type: 12-month contract with possibility to extend or convert.

Role Overview

This is an IT project management position supporting multiple applications in the clinical space such as utilization management, care management, appeals/grievances, interoperability, etc. The role will be cross-functional and will require collaboration with application development teams, product teams, and various program and project management teams across the organization.

This position is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of a technology project to ensure it is completed on time and within budget. The role has overall responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, internal staffing, vendors, and contractual deliverables. The project manager will develop detailed project plans, monitor project milestones, generate periodic status reports, evaluate and manage risk, and incorporate quality measures into project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and adhere to project timelines, maintain project records in ServiceNow, review Jira/Jira Align records, monitor project budget, document risks and issues, provide weekly status updates, present at investment forums for funding approvals, coordinate with testing teams, etc.
  • Manage multiple medium to large-sized projects.
  • Work with project stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans according to allocated time and budget.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, third parties, and vendors.
  • Create, build, and update project schedules, charters, status reports, and work breakdown structures.
  • Track and report on financial data, performance, and status of multiple projects.
  • Identify and manage key project risks, escalating issues to management as needed.
  • Facilitate the resolution of project-related conflicts and determine necessary corrective actions.
  • Ensure consistency and adherence to corporate operational standards and processes.
  • Ensure proper project closure, including documenting lessons learned.
  • Prepare information technology project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.


Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope, and skill.

Experience: 4 - 6 years of related project management experience.

Technical Skills:
  • Project Management skills - specifically with large cross functional projects
  • Experience with Jira/Jira Align
  • Time Management and Conflict Resolution

Abilities: Demonstrated ability to work independently, identify problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions. Possesses analytical skills, project management skills, and demonstrates a high level of accuracy. Ability to communicate and make recommendations to upper management and drive multiple projects to successful completion.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI.
  • strong communication skills, conflict resolution, critical thinking, ability to adapt to various situations/scenarios, time management, prior healthcare experience
Compensation & Benefits

The pay rate for this position is between $60.00 and $70.00 per hour.
