Summary

Founding Business Development Lead

VueData is hiring a Founding Business Development Lead to build our outbound growth engine for AI-native platforms across commerce, customer experience, and operations.

This is a hands-on builder role for someone who can personally create pipeline, define a modern outbound motion, and turn that motion into a repeatable system that scales through a broader team. You will set the standard for how VueData identifies the right accounts, engages with relevance, and converts early interest into qualified opportunities.

We are not looking for a traditional volume-driven outbound manager. We are looking for someone who knows how to combine strong sales instincts with modern AI-assisted tools, signal-based prospecting, and disciplined account-based execution.

What You’ll Own

  • Personally lead outbound into priority accounts across e-commerce, CX, and operations
  • Build and own top-of-funnel pipeline, including target account engagement, qualified meetings, and early-stage opportunities
  • Run strong first conversations that are problem-led, commercially sharp, and focused on customer pain rather than generic pitching
  • Define and document VueData’s outbound playbook, including ICPs, account prioritization, trigger frameworks, messaging architecture, personalization standards, and workflow cadence
  • Shift our motion from campaign-heavy outreach to focused, account-based, signal-led execution
  • Use modern AI and automation tools to improve research quality, message relevance, speed, and consistency
  • Establish a repeatable operating model that can scale through offshore and junior team support
  • Coach team members through examples, clear standards, and operating discipline rather than micromanagement
  • Surface market feedback, customer objections, and demand signals to Product and GTM leadership on a regular basis
  • Partner closely with founders, who will own later-stage sales and closing, by handing off well-qualified opportunities with strong context and clear buying rationale

What We’re Looking For

  • 6–10 years of experience in business development, outbound sales, SDR leadership, or early-stage GTM roles
  • Proven ability to personally generate qualified pipeline through outbound
  • Strong understanding of modern, AI-assisted prospecting and account-based outbound
  • Experience using signals, account context, and personalization to drive higher-quality conversations rather than high-volume activity
  • Strong discovery and communication skills, especially in early customer conversations
  • Ability to operate as both player and builder: executing directly while also creating repeatable systems
  • Experience working with offshore, distributed, or junior teams to scale execution
  • High ownership mindset with comfort in ambiguity, fast iteration, and building from scratch
  • Strong preference for accountability, outcomes, and quality over title or hierarchy

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling into e-commerce, operations, CX, logistics, or enterprise SaaS buyers
  • Experience in startups or services-led companies evolving toward product-led growth
  • Familiarity with modern sales and AI tooling for prospect research, sequencing, workflow automation, and signal detection
  • Experience working directly with founders or senior product/GTM leadership in a fast-moving environment
