Software Engineering Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Findlay Ohio, Houston Texas, Denver or San Antonio.

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers responsible for delivering innovative, scalable, and secure digital solutions. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and strategic planning to support the development of next-generation business applications and platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering background, experience leading technical teams, and a passion for driving high-quality software delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers across multiple disciplines
* Drive the delivery of technology solutions using Agile and modern software development practices
* Partner with product, architecture, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver business value
* Support technical decision-making, solution design, and engineering best practices
* Establish team priorities, roadmaps, and delivery plans aligned with business objectives
* Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability
* Manage staffing, performance management, employee development, and team growth
* Ensure software solutions are reliable, secure, maintainable, and scalable
* Track project progress, risks, and key delivery metrics while communicating effectively with stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
* 10+ years of experience in software development, engineering, or technology roles
* 3+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams
* Experience leading teams delivering cloud-based and enterprise applications
* Experience with modern programming languages and frameworks
* Strong understanding of software development methodologies, Agile practices, and modern engineering principles
* Familiarity with API development, application integration, and scalable system design
* Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
* Experience working within DevOps or DevSecOps environments is a plus

Preferred Experience:
* Cloud platforms and modern application architectures
* Application modernization and digital transformation initiatives
* CI/CD, automation, and software delivery best practices
* Enterprise-scale software development and cross-functional team leadership

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
