We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst with strong experience in data mapping, SQL, and the insurance domain. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements, analyze complex datasets, perform data mapping, and support enterprise data initiatives. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst and/or Data Analyst.
  • Strong hands-on experience with data mapping, data analysis, and data validation.
  • Advanced SQL skills for querying, analyzing, and validating large datasets.
  • Prior experience working in the Insurance industry (Property & Casualty, Life, Health, or Commercial Insurance preferred).
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into functional and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of data flows, ETL processes, and system integrations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
  • Perform data mapping between source and target systems for data migration and integration projects.
  • Write complex SQL queries to analyze, validate, and reconcile data.
  • Collaborate with business users, developers, QA teams, and data engineers to ensure accurate implementation of business requirements.
  • Create business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, data mapping documents, and process flows.
  • Support UAT, data validation, and defect resolution activities.
  • Identify data quality issues and recommend improvements.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.

Location Requirement: Candidates must be local to New Jersey and willing to work onsite in Warren, NJ two days per week.
