Technical Writer / Instructional Process Developer

Core Responsibilities

• Interview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs): Gather requirements and technical content by reviewing available documentation, observing demos, interviewing SMEs, Accessing and working in SAP PPS, capturing screens, etc. to document step-by-step procedures along with key supporting information.
• Conduct Task Analysis: Interview SMEs to identify steps in a process that are critical control points, difficult to learn, require prerequisite knowledge, etc.
• Develop Durable Learning Content: Plan learning strategies based on analysis and create experiences tailored to learning objectives and audience needs, ensuring clarity and engagement.
• Collaborate with Technical Teams: Work closely with technical counterparts to ensure solutions meet all functional requirements and are accurately documented.
• Document SAP Business Processes: Produce detailed documentation of SAP business processes, workflows, user actions, and system procedures.
• Visual Learning Elements: Incorporate screenshots, process diagrams, workflows, and other visual aids to enhance understanding and retention.
• Gap Analysis: Assess existing applications versus future state, define learning gaps, and similarity crosswalks to design instructional content accordingly.
• Interactive Scenarios: Design interactive instructional activities that engage new users and provide effective learning experiences.
• Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and update documentation based on user feedback and effectiveness, including proficiency in graphic design and editing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience:
• 6+ years in instructional design, facilitation, and delivery of training
• 5+ years developing instructional process flows, procedural documentation, training, and facilitation material
• 2+ years working with SAP applications

• Technical Skills:
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Experience with SAP and Public Sector Financials
• High proficiency in graphic design and editing tools

• U.S. Citizenship required
