Job Description
We are seeking a Custom Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java/Spring Boot, AWS, and SQL/NoSQL and a proven ability to design, build, and deliver reliable, scalable features in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead onshore and offshore engineering teams while following Agile principles and practices.
- Engage with Product Owners and Business Analysts to clarify requirements, review acceptance criteria, and validate deliverables before QA.
- Design functional and technical solutions and lead build activities for assigned features.
- Apply Test Driven Development and pair programming as needed to ensure quality and maintainability.
- Deliver high-quality, error-free product features and improve code quality before production deployment.
- Contribute to and create technical designs, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving.
- Share knowledge with the team and foster continuous learning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Java and Spring Boot with 8+ years of hands-on experience.
- Cloud experience with AWS with 8+ years in cloud-based development.
- SQL and NoSQL databases, such as Cassandra or MongoDB, with 7+ years of experience.
- 10+ years with JVM-based languages such as Java.
- Fluency in Test Driven Development and willingness to pair program.
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and team collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, OpenStack, or Rackspace.
- Kafka and event-driven architectures.
- Open source technologies such as Apache, Tomcat, and Memcached.
- Jenkins pipelines and CI/CD automation.
- Linux and macOS development environments.
- Demonstrated success working in Agile and retail industry environments.
