Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Technician Support
LMR support specialist and Spectrum SME within DPG as member of the Enterprise Services Division is responsible for the management of DPG LMR and frequency spectrum within the Dugway Proving Ground Area of Responsibility (AOR). Provides full technical and administrative support for LMR systems, to include the Base Support Trunked Radio System (BSTRS) Actively involved in all areas of interest of the SMO, especially interested in activities concerning the ATEC, RIAC, UTTR and the Dugway Spectrum community in balancing spectrum customer requirements between the Dugway spectrum testing and training communities. Installs, troubleshoots, programs, and maintains equipment and technologies related to wireless telecommunications by applying RF and mixed signal capabilities. Responsibilities include but not limited to preventative maintenance, RF front-end design, radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis and filter design, frequency coordination, analog-to-digital converters, repeater site equipment layout, and circuit design. Provide electronic support services to include electronics maintenance for non-tactical vehicles, special purpose vehicles, communications including Land Mobile Radios (LMR) and other electronics, and provides sustainment maintenance on non-tactical end items, non-tactical communications, repeaters, repeater relay stations.
Perform installation, maintenance, repairs, tune-ups, programming, troubleshooting and diagnostics on vehicle radios, Repeaters/duplexers/antennas, portable/handheld, mobile, repeaters, base stations, cell boosters and air-to ground radios, switches, servers and all other associated Motorola 7.11 Trunked LMR systems as requested. Complete all work orders within four (4) working days upon receipt of work request.
Servicing technician will use AESMP to record work and check the "Requires Touch Labor" box for all Tier 2 touch labor ONLY if their work involved direct, physical interaction with equipment or infrastructure.
Maintain government equipment accountability throughout replacement/re-issue process by ensuring that the equipment logs are properly filled out and submitted. Government equipment logs shall be completed each time property is initially checked in. Keep current listing of current locations for Government radios to include make, model, serial number, license plate number, building number, name and location. Provide Government equipment Accountability Logs as requested. This does not include GFP.

o Examples of some of the radio systems within the LMR system: ?Point-to-Point (PTP) Microwave systems
?UHF Motorola radio repeaters
?ICOM mobile VHF Air-to-Ground radios
?Handhelds and mobile radios
?Servers, Switches, Antennas, consoles, etc.
The contractor shall be responsible for maintaining and performing PM on all radio systems connected to the LMR system. Each individual radio system within the LMR system shall be operational and in excellent working status 95% of the time.
Install/De-install, and configure mobile, base station/consoles, repeater, and air-to-ground radios in vehicles and various facilities throughout the installation as requested.
Minimum five (5) years of related experience investigating, analyzing, and resolving a variety of unusual telecommunications problems and situations, acquiring, implementing, and expanding or modifying LMR systems, standards, architectures, and spectrum allocations.
Skill and resourcefulness are required to exploit technological advances while satisfying policy and regulations.
Broad knowledge of theory of operation for fixed and transportable transmitters, receivers, transceivers, antennas, satellite terminals, cellular telephones, pagers, digital narrow-band radio trunking systems, and related equipment, to include amplitude and frequency modulation, and random frequency access as applicable to point-to-point communications.
Use all types of test equipment, such as frequency meters, standing wave indicators, ohmmeters, Voltmeters, and signal generators to localize trouble.
Experience with Spectrum XXI programs, such as IFDS, point-to-point and coverage plots with terrain features, required compliance checks that all frequency proposals included and submitted to NTIA.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in vehicle communications and radio equipment installations, both commercial and emergency vehicles.
Contractor must be Motorola 7.11 or latest certification - Within 90 days of start date. Certification includes at a minimum the following training or equivalent:
o IV&D SECURE KMF TRAINING
o APX SUBSCRIBER ACADEMY
o GTR 8000 SITE SUB SYSTEM
o NETWORK RESOURCES (ROUTERS)
o NETWORK SWITCHES
o SECURITY PATCH MANAGEMENT
o IV&D RADIO SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

The pay range for this position is $55.28 - $55.28/hr.
