Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer to join our agile team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python, Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Views, and data modeling, and a proven ability to deliver high-quality, defect-free solutions on schedule while collaborating with distributed teams and business partners.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and modify Oracle PL/SQL objects, SQL queries, and views.
- Create new database tables and modify existing schemas based on business requirements.
- Perform performance tuning and analyze execution plans for query optimization.
- Apply normalization, denormalization, and star schema design as appropriate.
- Develop stored procedures, database triggers, and reusable SQL components.
- Implement Python services and integrations, including OCR/NLP where applicable.
- Develop test cases and perform unit testing to ensure quality and compliance.
- Coordinate with onsite leadership, developers, and a distributed team.
- Provide regular status updates and documentation to stakeholders and management.
- Guide and support DEV team members on best practices and delivery goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of software development experience with a strong background in Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Views.
- 3+ years of Python development, including building services and data integrations.
- Data modeling skills including normalization, denormalization, and star schema design.
- Performance tuning expertise and ability to interpret explain plans.
- Experience developing stored procedures, triggers, and complex SQL queries.
- Experience with data analysis and integrating data from multiple source systems (2+ years).
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, GitHub, Bitbucket, and Datical.
- Agile development experience with Jira and Agile best practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with clear communication.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with OCR and NLP tools and technologies.
- Knowledge of Informatica and Autosys for ETL and scheduling.
- Understanding of Unix concepts and shell utilities.
- Experience with Compliance or Operational Risk domains.
- Exposure to SDM Adoption or Horizon onboarding tools.
