Job Title: Software Engineer 4 / Senior Software Engineer - Data Engineering (Google Cloud Platform & AI)
Location: Charlotte, NC - Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Contract Length: 12 months (expected extension to 24 months)
Pay Rate: $69 - $74
Top Requirements:7+ years of Data Engineering / Software Engineering experience with strong Google Cloud Platform expertise (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Composer)Experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and modern data warehouses on Google Cloud PlatformHands-on experience with AI/ML integration (Vertex AI preferred) and strong Python/SQL skillsPlusses:Certifications in Google Cloud (Professional Data Engineer or ML Engineer)Experience with dbt, Dataform, or transformation toolsExperience with streaming pipelines (Pub/Sub, Dataflow)Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/GKE)Knowledge of MLOps, RAG/LLM applications, and model monitoringJob Summary:In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering. Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables. Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on Google Cloud Platform
- Build and optimize data warehouses and data lakes using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and Dataproc
- Implement orchestration and transformation workflows using Cloud Composer (Airflow), dbt, or Dataform
- Integrate and productionize AI/ML models using Vertex AI and other Google Cloud Platform services
- Develop robust, scalable backend solutions using Python and SQL
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipeline performance and data platform reliability
- Ensure cost efficiency, security, and governance of data solutions
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and cross-functional teams to deliver data and AI-driven solutions
- Support migration initiatives to Google Cloud Platform and modernization of data platforms
- Implement best practices for data modeling (star/snowflake schemas) and data architecture
- Build and maintain real-time and batch data processing pipelines
- Contribute to enterprise-level AI and analytics initiatives
