Lead Back-End Java Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Lead Back-End Java Developer in Tampa, FL.

Summary:
We're looking for an experienced Back-End Java Software Engineer to design and develop mission-critical applications supporting complex warehouse automation and material handling environments. This is a senior, hands-on engineering role focused on Java back-end development, system integrations, databases, distributed applications, and technical leadership.

What You'll Do:
* Design, develop, test, and maintain complex Java back-end applications and services
* Build reliable integrations between software applications, databases, and automated systems
* Develop solutions using Java/JDK, Java Messaging Service (JMS), Java Servlets, SQL, and TCP/IP
* Work with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases
* Troubleshoot complex application, integration, database, and production issues
* Contribute to application architecture, technical design, code reviews, and development standards
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers
* Collaborate with software, controls, automation, and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
* 10+ years of professional software development experience
* Warehouse automation/material handling industry experience is required
* Strong Java and JDK development experience
* Experience with Java Messaging Service (JMS) and Java Servlets
* Strong experience with SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and/or Oracle
* Experience with TCP/IP and distributed/client-server applications
* Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, source control, and defect-tracking tools
* Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and back-end application design
* Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
