Sr. Director, Business Operations Effectiveness Leader Reporting to the Head of Business Operations Effectiveness, the Business Operations Effectiveness Senior Director serves as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert, engaging with senior executives to advance enterprise-wide operational excellence, AI operationalization, digital transformation, and sustainable growth through innovative process improvements and strategic initiatives. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to drive transformational change at an enterprise level while partnering with senior leadership to shape the future of our organization.
Key Responsibilities and Duties- Provide strategic guidance and expertise to advance Business Operations Effectiveness initiatives across multiple functional areas
- Contribute to fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through collaborative problem-solving and knowledge sharing
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with senior leaders and executives, supporting enterprise-wide transformation initiatives that deliver measurable business value
- Develop and implement performance metrics and analytics frameworks to measure and communicate business impact
- Support the development and execution of operational excellence strategies that align with the organization's long-term objectives
- Design and implement governance frameworks and operating models that accelerate decision-making and drive operational efficiency across the enterprise
- Lead high-impact transformation initiatives, ensuring effective execution and maximizing return on investment
- Champion the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI and automation, to deliver business transformation and competitive advantage
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure alignment on priorities and maximize impact and value delivery
- Lead or participate in internal enterprise initiatives (Culture Teams, business resource groups)
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
- Establish yourself as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert within the Business Operations Effectiveness function, recognized for delivering strategic value to the business
- Successfully drive the adoption of next-generation technologies (particularly AI) and operating models across the enterprise to achieve annual transformation/budgetary targets
- Create sustainable frameworks for measuring and scaling operational excellence initiatives Develop and share compelling stories about how the solutions implemented strengthen how TIAA operates, reduce bureaucracy, and impact TIAA's stakeholders and participant
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:- 8+ years of progressive experience in business operations, strategy consulting, and/or transformation leadership roles
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Demonstrated experience successfully navigating complex, cross-matrixed organizations through strategic relationship building and influence without authority, consistently advancing enterprise-wide initiatives by aligning diverse stakeholders across business units, functions, and geographies to achieve transformational outcomes
- Proven track record of contributing to or leading large-scale transformation initiatives at Fortune 500 companies
- Expertise in operational excellence methodologies (Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking, Agile)
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to translate strategic vision into executable plans
- Executive presence with outstanding communication and influence skills when engaging with senior leaders
- Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent)
- Deep understanding of financial services industry and regulatory environment
- Experience working within Centers of Excellence or supporting enterprise-wide transformation program

Base Pay Range: $191,400/yr - $259,100/yr
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
