The National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program at Leidos is seeking a
Telecommunications Engineering Technician to provide support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Service Area - Engineering Services Group located in
Anchorage, AK.The ideal candidate will support the daily operations of
the Brand-New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS). This new system will replace outdated infrastructure including radar, software, hardware and telecommunications networks to manage modern travel.
Telecommunications Engineering Technician Job Duties Include:- Review FAA databases and provide input and or draft Site Survey Reports (SSR).
- Conduct site surveys to provide input and/or draft Site Survey Reports.
- Coordinate schedules with SSC, ES, and vendor personnel.
- Draft Project Risk Plans (PRP) and Operational Risk Management Plans (ORMP).
- Generate and/or update drawings, sketches, and artifacts.
- Draft project plans for site preparation activities.
- Coordinate scheduled outages with SSC, Air Traffic and Operations personnel.
- Develop transition plans.
- Resolve schedule conflicts.
- Accompany unbadged personnel at facilities.
- Work with LECs on schedules.
- Develop briefings/information/reports on District status.
- Work with other Districts/SSC on interstate service flows, transitions, cutovers, planning, etc.
- Support District POC and SSCs with day-to-day work activities.
- Review and provide comments on vendor Site Specific Implementation Plans (SSIP).
Telecommunications Engineering Technician Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering and 4 to 8 years of relevant experience OR a Master's degree and 2 to 6 years. Additional experience may be substituted/considered/accepted in lieu of degree.
- Ability to travel 75-100%.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suites.
Desired Qualifications:- 2+ years of experience working with Telco systems performing Network Troubleshooting.
- Proficient working with AutoCAD or similar tools.
- Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Assoc (NFPA) standards, National Airspace System Equipment Tower.
- Knowledge of OSHA and general construction and electrical safety standards.
- Knowledge of NAS facilities such as ASR, ATCT, VOR, ARSR, RCAG.

Pay Range:Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
