Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Application Support Analyst to join the Global Electronic Equities Trading group within Client. This role sits at the very heart of the firm s equities trading operation, supporting missioncritical frontend trading applications used directly by the Equities desk.
Based onsite at Client's flagship 270 Park Avenue headquarters, this position requires more than strong technical skills it demands composure, executivelevel communication, and the ability to thrive in a highpressure, fastmoving trading environment. Soft skills are equally (if not more) important than technical ability for success on this team.
The group serves as the plumbing of the electronic trading ecosystem, ensuring that orders, messages, and data flow accurately, quickly, and reliably across complex systems. You will work shouldertoshoulder with traders, quants, and senior technology partners to keep trading platforms stable, performant, and responsive during live market conditions.
What You ll Do
- Provide hands-on, real-time support for front-end electronic trading applications used by the Equities desk
- Troubleshoot issues across UI behavior, connectivity, routing, and messaging flows
- Read, interpret, and debug scripts; assist with Python-based automation and support tooling
- Perform Linux-based diagnostics, including system health checks, log analysis, and hardware/connectivity troubleshooting
- Monitor application health, maintain monitoring frameworks, and adjust alerts as necessary
- Actively own incidents from identification through resolution, escalating when appropriate
- Partner directly with traders and front-office stakeholders, communicating clearly under pressure
- Ensure stability and continuity of trading operations throughout market hours
Required Skills & Experience
Must Have
- Strong Python scripting experience
- Solid Linux background (system checks, log analysis, troubleshooting)
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (connectivity, routing, message flow)
- Ability to multitask, stay composed, and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence working directly with front-office users
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting Equities, Electronic Trading, or Capital Markets environments
- Familiarity with market structure, order routing, or FIX messaging
- Prior experience supporting trading platforms or real-time, high-availability systems
