Launch Quality Engineer on a
contract basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to support large-scale distribution center launch initiatives within high-volume enterprise logistics environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in warehouse quality processes, 3PL operations, and operational startup execution for facilities ranging from 500K-1M+ square feet. This role offers hands-on exposure to major launch activities, cross-functional operational leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives within fast-paced supply chain environments. Candidates will have the opportunity to drive meaningful impact by shaping launch readiness, quality execution, process optimization, and Lean operational excellence across enterprise distribution sites.
Contract Duration: 5 Months + Possible Extension
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience within large-scale logistics, supply chain, or 3PL environments
- Experience supporting large enterprise warehouse or distribution center launches
- Experience in 500K-1M+ sq. ft. warehouse/distribution operations
- Strong understanding of warehouse quality processes and operational readiness
- Experience creating PFMEA documentation, control plans, SOPs, and work instructions
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and quality management systems
- Experience leading or supporting Lean Six Sigma initiatives
- Strong documentation, audit, and compliance background
- Ability to travel 50%-70% to California
- Experience conducting employee onboarding and operational training
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Desired Skills & Experience
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification
- Experience with Kaizen, 5S, and Lean operational excellence initiatives
- Prior HSE or manufacturing quality experience
- Experience supporting operational startup environments
- Bilingual capabilities preferred
- Experience with continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives
- Background in enterprise-level 3PL or distribution operations preferred
- Experience supporting customer-facing launch activities

Daily Responsibilities
- Serve as the voice of Corporate Quality from project bid phase through launch implementation
- Create and maintain quality documentation aligned with operational and customer requirements
- Develop PFMEA documentation, process control plans, SOPs, and work instructions
- Support launch readiness activities and on-site operational execution
- Conduct training for new hires covering safety and Lean concepts
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure successful launch execution
- Analyze warehouse operations and identify process improvement opportunities
- Support Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with quality standards including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
- Drive best practices across supply chain and warehouse operations
