Summary

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced OpenShift Engineer with a strong background in the banking domain to design, implement, and support container-based cloud-native platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable, high-quality applications and maintaining enterprise OpenShift environments, while enabling DevOps practices and microservices architecture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and testable applications in a cloud-native environment
  • Work within an enterprise OpenShift (OCP) team to onboard and manage microservices-based applications
  • Install, configure, and maintain OpenShift clusters (OCP) across AWS and Azure (ARO, ROSA)
  • Lead implementation and troubleshooting of AMQ Kafka operators, including producer/consumer microservices
  • Implement and manage API Gateway routing rules for traffic distribution across containerized services
  • Integrate monitoring tools like Dynatrace for performance, availability, and resource utilization
  • Drive monolithic to microservices transformation initiatives
  • Perform cluster upgrades, migrations, and ongoing system improvements
  • Manage node configurations, including machine sets, machine config pools, and autoscaling
  • Configure and manage OpenShift components such as Quay, Consul, SSO, Service Mesh, and Ingress Controllers
  • Work with VMware vCenter for infrastructure resource management (CPU, memory, node draining)
  • Perform Linux-level troubleshooting for containerized applications (pods, Dockerfiles, YAML configs)
  • Develop and maintain Ansible scripts for cluster automation and node management
  • Implement security best practices, including OAuth, OAM, LDAP integration, and secret management
  • Collaborate with F5 Load Balancer teams for VIPs, routing, and certificate management
  • Handle ServiceNow tickets (REQ/RITM) and support DevOps pipelines for automated deployments
  • Work closely with AWS, Azure, and Red Hat teams/vendors to ensure delivery aligned with architecture and SLAs

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong experience in Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) administration and engineering
  • Mandatory experience in Banking / Financial Services domain
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (ROSA) and Azure (ARO) environments
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of Kafka (AMQ Streams) and event-driven architecture
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency in Ansible scripting for automation
  • Knowledge of API Gateway, Service Mesh, and microservices architecture
  • Experience with VMware/vCenter environments
  • Understanding of security frameworks (OAuth, LDAP, OAM)

Preferred Skills:
  • Programming experience in Java and/or Python
  • Exposure to Open Source technologies
  • Experience with Quay registry and container security
  • Familiarity with F5 Load Balancers

Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, enterprise environment
  • Experience leading teams and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders
