Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Columbia, MDWe are seeking a
Senior Electrical Design Engineer for a temporary assignment supporting advanced electrical systems for aerospace and lighter-than-air platforms. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with strong expertise in
power systems, electrical design, and system integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design across the full product lifecycle, including concept, development, testing, and production
- Design and support power generation and distribution systems, instrumentation, communications, PLCs, and VFDs
- Perform power system modeling, load analysis, and capacity planning
- Develop electrical schematics and production-ready engineering documentation
- Support system integration, troubleshooting, and first-article testing
- Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with performance and safety requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years of electrical design experience in complex systems
- Strong background in electrical power systems and analysis
- Experience in aerospace or aviation environments preferred
- Hands-on experience with testing, integration, and manufacturing support
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance preferred
