Join a leading telecommunications organization supporting large-scale network transformation and infrastructure modernization initiatives. We are seeking an experienced Network Grooming / Provisioning Engineer to manage network grooming, provisioning, traffic migration, and decommissioning activities across complex telecom environments. This Network Grooming / Provisioning Engineer role is ideal for a professional with deep Layer 1 networking expertise and experience supporting critical network operations in a 24x7 environment. Network Grooming / Provisioning Engineer Responsibilities

Prepare, test, groom, and provision customer network services to support traffic migration and network decommissioning projects.
Execute network activations, implementations, maintenance activities, and turn-down operations across telecom infrastructure.
Coordinate traffic cutovers and migration activities while minimizing service disruption.
Verify network pathways and connectivity requirements prior to migration events.
Collaborate with central office technicians and client-site personnel during implementation and maintenance windows.
Provide status updates, escalation support, and project communications to program leadership.
Partner with cross-functional engineering and operations teams to ensure successful service delivery.
Support scheduling and execution of activities across a 24x7 operational environment.

Network Grooming / Provisioning Engineer Qualifications

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience in telecom network provisioning, grooming, and migration activities.
Strong experience with network turn-downs, traffic migrations, activations, implementations, and maintenance procedures.
Extensive knowledge of Layer 1 networking technologies, including:
- SONET (OC3, OC12, OC48, OC192)
- TDM Copper (DS0, DS1, DS3)
- Switched Voice Trunks and PRI services
Hands-on experience with:
- Ciena 6500
- Fujitsu/Flashwave SONET platforms
- Nortel MUX and Optera systems
- DXCs including Telabs, Alcatel, and Titans
Previous experience with Telecommunication systems such as BGW, TCOMS, Maintenance Tracker, and related platforms.
Strong understanding of central office environments and telecom infrastructure.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including morning, mid, and night shifts within a 24x7 rotation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting Gigabit Ethernet (Gig-E), 10G, 100G, 400G, and PIP technologies.
Additional exposure to multi-technology network environments beyond SONET and TDM.
