Job Description
We are seeking a Release Train Engineer / Agile Scrum Master to join our dynamic team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Agile delivery, Scrum and Kanban practices, Jira and Jira Align, and flow-based metrics and a proven ability to facilitate team delivery, remove impediments, and drive continuous improvement across distributed teams.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate daily team alignment through stand-ups to surface progress, risks, and blockers.
- Maintain delivery flow using Scrum or Kanban, monitoring WIP limits and cycle time.
- Partner with the Product Owner to keep a clear, prioritized, and groomed backlog.
- Remove impediments by coordinating with cross-functional teams, leadership, and support groups.
- Coach teams on Agile practices to improve predictability and efficiency.
- Maintain transparency through clean boards, dashboards, and proactive stakeholder communication.
- Drive continuous improvement through feedback loops and retrospectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Retrospectives.
- Proficiency with Jira for backlog management, dashboards, and metrics tracking.
- Understanding of DevOps fundamentals, quality practices, and Definition of Done.
- Ability to leverage flow metrics such as cycle time, WIP, throughput, and predictability to drive improvements.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills across cross-functional teams.
- Servant leadership mindset with a focus on coaching and impediment removal.
- Problem-solving ability, adaptability, and stakeholder management skills.
- Expertise in risk, dependency, and issue management.
- Experience with executive status reporting using PowerPoint and Excel.
- Leadership and coaching experience across distributed teams.
- Familiarity with Jira / Jira Align and enterprise release processes.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with scaled Agile frameworks such as SAFe, LeSS, or Nexus.
- Strong influencing skills without formal authority and ability to build partnerships across teams.
- Experience with Jira Align for enterprise planning and multi-team coordination.
- Experience in regulated industries, including financial services and compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and modern engineering practices.
- Ability to connect team delivery with business outcomes and product metrics.
- Preferred certifications: PSM II, A-CSM, SASM, ICP-ACC, ICP-ATF, KMP, or equivalent.
