Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced
SAP GTS Functional Analyst to support and implement SAP projects based on
S/4HANA technology. This role is part of a collaborative functional team and will work closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, and development teams to deliver high-quality SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring deep SAP GTS configuration expertise, strong functional design skills, and hands-on experience with global trade compliance, customs, and risk management.
Key ResponsibilitiesSAP GTS Functional Leadership- Serve as the primary point of contact for all SAP GTS-related processes and solutions.
- Lead requirements validation sessions, workshops, and functional design activities.
- Develop functional design documents, UAT test scripts, and support training material development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business SMEs, architects, developers, and system integrators.
SAP GTS Configuration & Implementation- Design, customize, and configure SAP GTS to align with global trade compliance requirements, including:
- Tariff and product classification
- Sanctioned Party List (SPL) screening
- Export controls and legal compliance
- Import/export compliance processes
- Perform end-to-end configuration and maintain associated documentation.
- Lead and independently manage WRICEF developments in coordination with the ABAP development team.
Compliance & Risk Management- Design and implement trade compliance processes, including:
- Embargo and sanction screening
- Legal control and restricted party screening
- Configure and optimize customs management processes for compliant and efficient import/export declarations.
- Oversee risk management activities such as:
- Preference determination
- Origin management
- Product classification to reduce duty exposure
Integration & System Enablement- Enable seamless integration between SAP GTS and:
- SAP SD, MM, EHS, FI, and SAP TM
- Configure electronic filings and integration with government and regulatory platforms.
- Ensure timely, accurate submission of trade and customs documentation.
Data Integrity, Support & Training- Ensure accuracy and integrity of:
- Product master data
- Customs and compliance data
- Trade documentation within SAP GTS
- Provide end-user training and ongoing support on SAP GTS functionality and compliance best practices.
- Act as the lead contact for troubleshooting GTS issues and resolving system or process gaps.
Continuous Improvement & Regulatory Awareness- Stay current with international trade regulations and compliance laws.
- Assess regulatory changes and recommend system or process updates to maintain compliance.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance existing systems and business processes.
Required Qualifications- 8-12 years of hands-on SAP GTS experience with strong configuration expertise
- Experience participating in 2-3 full-cycle global SAP implementations
- Extensive knowledge of:
- International trade compliance regulations
- Customs procedures and trade finance
- Strong integration experience with SAP SD, MM, EHS, FI, and SAP TM
- Proven experience with:
- Requirements gathering and workshops
- Functional design and solution architecture
- SAP S/4HANA implementations and innovations
- In-depth knowledge of SAP:
- User exits
- Batch jobs
- Standard reports
- Familiarity with supply chain business models and SAP Fiori UI
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry
- Relevant SAP certifications (SAP GTS preferred; SAP EWM a plus)
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
Education & Experience- Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of related experience
OR - Master's degree with 7+ years of related experience
OR - Equivalent combination of education and professional experience
