Client Technologies builds software for government agencies across public safety and public administration. We are looking for Senior C# Engineers who work AI-first this is not a role where AI is a nice-to-have. You will use AI as your primary engine for code production, working through spec-driven workflows today and increasingly through automated pipelines as that practice matures. If you are not already building this way, this role is not a fit.

You will join a fast-moving team driving cloud-native modernization of a large enterprise platform, taking end-to-end ownership of workstreams from specification through deployment. The expectation is that AI-assisted development dramatically accelerates your output and we will be hiring and evaluating on that basis.

What You ll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud-native C# services, APIs, and containerized workloads.
  • Work on active defect remediation and technical debt inherited from a large-scale legacy migration, with rapid turnaround on high-priority issues.
  • Build and maintain APIs supporting mobile application platforms.
  • Contribute to architecture refactoring efforts under direction from the lead architect.
  • Author and work from AI-generated specifications as your primary development method using Claude, Copilot, or equivalent to drive the majority of code production, not just assist with it.
  • Continuously improve your AI-driven workflow, contributing to team practices around prompt engineering, spec quality, and automated pipeline development.
  • Instrument services with telemetry (distributed tracing, structured logging, metrics) to support observability-first operations.
  • Participate in daily standups and collaborate closely with a small, fast-moving team.
  • Write clear technical documentation, ADRs, and specs as part of normal delivery.

Skills

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience with C# and the .NET ecosystem.
  • Solid experience with SQL Server, including query optimization and working with large enterprise databases.
  • Demonstrated cloud-native development experience: containerized workloads (Docker), AWS services, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deep, hands-on experience with AI spec-driven development as your primary workflow you write specs, AI produces code, you review and iterate. This is how you build, not an occasional shortcut.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tooling (Claude, Copilot, or equivalent) to accelerate output well beyond what traditional development produces. We will ask you to show us this in the interview process.
  • Experience working with legacy migration codebases: understanding the patterns and pitfalls of translating large legacy systems to modern platforms.
  • Strong command of telemetry practices: OpenTelemetry or equivalent, structured logging, distributed tracing, and metrics dashboards.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs consumed by mobile applications.
  • Excellent written communication; ability to write clear specs, ADRs, and technical documentation.

Technical Environment

You ll be working with the following stack and tooling:

  • C#, ASP.NET Core, minimal APIs
  • SQL Server
  • AWS: containerized workloads, managed services, infrastructure-as-code
  • Docker and container orchestration
  • Azure DevOps Pipelines
  • OpenTelemetry, structured logging, distributed tracing
  • Spec-driven development with Claude, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent
  • Small-team agile, code review culture, daily standups
