Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Project Manager to lead and manage cybersecurity and information security initiatives from planning through implementation and closure. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills combined with a solid understanding of cybersecurity, risk management, security governance, and compliance.

The Project Manager will work closely with cybersecurity teams, IT, infrastructure, application teams, compliance, risk, and business stakeholders to ensure security projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to organizational security standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end cybersecurity and information security projects from initiation through completion.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including Security, IT, Infrastructure, Cloud, Applications, Risk, Compliance, and Business teams.
• Manage project scope, timelines, priorities, risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
• Track project status and provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation and remediation plans.
• Coordinate cybersecurity risk remediation and security improvement initiatives.
• Support projects involving vulnerability management, IAM, cloud security, application security, network security, data security, and security compliance.
• Ensure project deliverables align with cybersecurity policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, status reviews, and stakeholder communications.
• Maintain RAID logs, action items, project documentation, and executive-level reporting.
• Work with technical teams to translate cybersecurity requirements into actionable project deliverables.
• Coordinate with GRC, Risk, Audit, and Compliance teams as required.
• Monitor project performance and proactively escalate issues that may impact delivery.
• Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies and project delivery methodologies where applicable.
• Ensure appropriate project governance, documentation, and change management processes are followed.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of overall IT Project/Program Management experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing Cybersecurity / Information Security projects.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, security controls, risk management, and security governance.
• Experience managing cross-functional technical teams and enterprise-level initiatives.
• Strong experience with project planning, scheduling, risk/issue management, and stakeholder management.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong communication, presentation, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or equivalent project management platforms.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• PMP certification.
• Experience with NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, or other security frameworks.
• Experience with GRC, vulnerability management, IAM, cloud security, or security remediation programs.
• Experience working in large enterprise environments.
• ITIL certification is a plus.
• Experience with cybersecurity compliance, audit, and regulatory initiatives is a plus.
