Security Engineer and System Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client, a US based, mid-size, regulated financial services firm centrally located in NYC, is seeking a hands-on hybrid Security Engineer and System Administrator responsible for both enterprise infrastructure administration and cybersecurity operations who will ensure the availability, integrity and security of Windows and Linux systems.

Summary:
This role will be responsible for system deployment and hardening, threat detection, incident response, and regulatory compliance, while maintaining critical IT infrastructure (you are not required to know everything listed in the description, as long as you have experience with the majority). Responsibilities:
* Infrastructure and Systems Administration incl. support of Windows and Linux environments and applications in these environments (Linux is a nice to have)
* Administer and secure AD/Azure, Group Policy, SaaS products and Identity systems/services
* Maintain infrastructure and system performance, patching and availability
* Support on-prem, virtualization and hybrid cloud infrastructure
* Monitor and maintain endpoints and EDR solution
* Monitor and maintain network and firewall infrastructure
* Monitor and analyze security events via SIEM, EDR, etc
* Develop, tune and improve detections rules and alerts
* Perform vulnerability scanning and remediation
* Investigate, respond, contain and remediate security incidents across the enterprise
* Manage logging, monitoring and secure configurations for both cloud and on-prem services
* Perform root cause analysis and document findings
* Conduct periodic access reviews
* Maintain and improve documentation, policies and support internal/external audits
* Manage backup solution, maintain and test disaster recovery and business continuity processes
* Automate system administration and security processes

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's of Science degree preferred
* Relevant certifications (CISSP, Azure Administrator, Azure Security, etc.) preferred
* 5+ years of experience in System and Cloud Administration
* 5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity

Robust hands-on experience with managing the following:
* EDR (Crowdstrike)
* SEG (Mimecast/Barracuda)
* SIEM (Splunk)
* Monitoring/Logging
* Vulnerability scanning
* Scripting/Automation (Powershell, python, etc.)
* WAN/LAN

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
