DESCRIPTION:
As a Staff Engineer in Product Development at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll contribute to innovation and excellence in developing advanced solutions that help make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Working with diverse teams, you'll guide technical development from concept through commercialization, applying your expertise to solve complex engineering challenges. You'll collaborate with design engineers, process developers, quality teams, and project leaders to create innovative products for life science, medical device, laboratory, and diagnostic markets. This role offers opportunities to develop new technologies, optimize manufacturing processes, and deliver solutions that directly impact critical global challenges in healthcare, research, and environmental protection.

REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in product development in regulated industries
Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical, Materials Science, or related field)
Additional technical certifications relevant to specific domain
Expertise in design analysis, verification, and validation methodologies
Strong proficiency with CAD software and engineering analysis tools
Experience leading technical projects and collaborating with diverse teams
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and prepare technical documentation
Experience with quality systems and regulatory requirements (GMP, ISO)
Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset
Excellence in written and verbal communication
Demonstrated innovation and technical leadership experience
Project management capabilities and ability to manage multiple priorities
Travel required up to 10%
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Team-oriented approach with excellent interpersonal abilities

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $114,000.00-$132,000.00.
