Terms of Employment

• Full-time, Permanent
• This is a hybrid role at Washington, DC (2 times a week)
• Local candidates from Washington DC only
• This position requires atleast an Interim Secret Clearance

Overview

• Our client is looking for a Cloud Engineer (AWS) who can support the design, implementation, and maintenance of the cloud infrastructure for an AWS-based data and API platform. Assist in deploying and managing cloud resources.

Responsibilities

• Assist in deploying and managing cloud infrastructure using AWS services
• Support the automation of infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Monitor, cloud systems to ensure performance, availability, and reliability.
• Help implement security measures and compliance controls.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate and optimize cloud solutions.
• Document procedures, configurations, and best practices for cloud deployments.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in cloud engineering, preferably AWS.
• Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins and GitLab
• Understanding of networking concepts like VPN, VPCs, DNS, and load balancing
• Basic scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• AFS Skills: Cloud, AWS, Data Platforms, Microservices.
