Role Overview
This position is for an Engineer or Architect with subject matter expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The role involves designing and implementing enterprise infrastructure and platforms for cloud computing, analyzing system requirements, and ensuring secure integration with current applications. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of system development in cloud environments, including SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS, and will support the organization's strategic technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise and assist IT functional groups to define and implement solutions aligned with a cloud-based microservices architecture.
- Create architecture deliverables describing cloud solutions, including bill of materials, technology components, and cost estimations.
- Lead cultural change for cloud adoption and participate in developing Infrastructure Solution roadmaps.
- Create and communicate cloud policies, procedures, standards, design patterns, and reference architectures.
- Provide technical direction to professionals engaged in the analysis, design, and implementation of business information systems.
- Ensure solution designs align with enterprise architecture and comply with technology standards and policies.
- Research and analyze technology trends related to cloud technologies to determine potential impact and make recommendations.
- Provide technical leadership to resolve complex problems related to business information systems.
Required Qualifications
Education: A minimum of thirteen (13) to twenty (20) years of relevant experience is required. A degree from an accredited college or university in an applicable field is preferred. Four additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a college degree. If the degree is not in an applicable field, four additional years of related experience are required.
Experience:- Must possess an active Google Cloud Associate or Professional certification.
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and evaluate business systems and develop Google Cloud-centric solutions.
- Experience leading the design, development, and deployment of cloud business software at scale, particularly on Google Cloud.
- Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g., SOX, PCI) for cloud applications.
- Experience integrating cloud services with other SaaS or on-premise technologies from vendors such as Microsoft, IBM, and Oracle.
- Must have resided in the US for the past 5 years with no more than 6 months of travel outside the United States (Military Service excluded).
Technical Skills:- Expert knowledge of Google Cloud services.
- Ability to automate complex tasks using scripting or coding skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform).
- Knowledge of enterprise-wide architecture, including servers, storage, virtualization, and high availability.
- Knowledge of Agile application lifecycle, test-driven development, and continuous integration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Generative AI and prompt engineering.
- Understanding of concepts like CI/CD and containerization.
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in creating technical diagrams with tools like Microsoft Visio or Draw.io.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
