Role Overview

Apple Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer (C/C++ Developer) with strong expertise in VoIP and SIP technologies. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of real-time communication systems, including SIP-based voice platforms and media services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications using C/C++
  • Work on SIP-based communication systems, including call handling, signaling, and media flows
  • Develop and integrate SIP stacks and SIP User Agents (SIPUA)
  • Implement and optimize VoIP solutions for scalability and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and enhance real-time communication platforms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SIP signaling, media streams, and system performance
  • Contribute to system architecture involving media gateways and session border controllers (SBCs)
  • Work with FreeSWITCH for telephony and media server development
  • Ensure code quality, performance tuning, and adherence to best practices

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in C/C++ development
  • Strong experience in VoIP, SIP protocols, and real-time communication systems
  • Hands-on experience with SIP Stack and SIPUA (SIP User Agent)
  • 5–10 years of experience working with SIP-based applications
  • 2–5 years of experience with FreeSWITCH
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, RTP/RTCP, etc.)
  • Experience in debugging and optimizing low-latency systems

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SIP Media Gateways and Session Border Controllers (SBCs)
  • Familiarity with telecom infrastructure and voice routing systems
  • Exposure to cloud-based communication platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
