Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in New Jersey, NJ that is seeking a high-impact IT Business Partner to support our client's Academics and Research division, including clinical research institutes and a School of Medicine serving medical students. This individual will serve as a strategic liaison between IT and academic/research leadership, supporting day-to-day operations while developing key strategic deliverables that shape the future-state IT support model.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
* Partner closely with executive and operational leaders across research and academic divisions to develop and align IT strategy with business objectives
* Manage escalations and issue resolution across IT and business teams
* Anticipate strategic shifts driven by organizational growth, regulatory requirements, or emerging technologies
* Identify risks, inefficiencies, and standardization opportunities across workflows and systems
* Collaborate with Principal Investigators to understand research technology needs and coordinate delivery with IT teams
* Establish governance and access guidelines aligned with privacy and security requirements
* Ensure technology requirements are incorporated into grant submissions
* Support compliant technology solutions aligned with federal and non-federal sponsor guidelines
* Ensure clinical trials have secure, compliant technology infrastructure for data capture and analysis
* Translate business strategy and industry trends into an aligned IT portfolio of programs and initiatives
* Navigate regulatory, legal, privacy, cybersecurity, and accreditation considerations specific to healthcare and academic research environments
* Maintain strong, customer-facing relationships while balancing business needs and IT constraints

Define and optimize workflows for:
* Software and service acquisition
* Technical assistance requests
* Data access for research purposes

REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience serving as an IT Business Partner, IT Relationship Manager, or similar strategic liaison role
* Strong understanding of academic research environments or academic health systems
* Experience supporting clinical research, grants, or medical education environments preferred
* Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in healthcare and research
* Strong executive communication and presentation skills
* Ability to operate strategically while managing tactical execution
* Proven stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration experience

Preferred Experience:
* Experience in an academic health system or university-based research environment
* Knowledge of federal and non-federal sponsor program administration guidelines
* Exposure to clinical trial technology platforms and data governance frameworks

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
