EPIC CADENCE/PRELUDE LEAD ANALYST

Position Summary

Epic Cadence / Epic Prelude Lead Analyst will serve as the senior functional and technical lead supporting patient access operations, scheduling workflows, registration optimization, and Epic application enhancements across the healthcare enterprise. This individual will lead complex Epic initiatives, mentor analysts, partner closely with operational leadership, and drive workflow standardization and optimization efforts across ambulatory and hospital settings.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Cadence and Prelude, strong healthcare operational knowledge, leadership experience, and the ability to translate clinical and business requirements into scalable Epic solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design, build, optimization, testing, and support activities for Epic Cadence and Prelude applications.
• Serve as the primary liaison between IT, patient access leadership, clinic operations, registration teams, and scheduling stakeholders.
• Analyze current workflows and recommend operational and system improvements to enhance scheduling efficiency, registration accuracy, and patient experience.
• Lead large-scale Epic initiatives including upgrades, new department implementations, workflow redesigns, and optimization projects.
• Provide strategic guidance around:
  • Scheduling templates
  • Decision trees
  • Registration workflows
  • Insurance verification
  • Referral management
  • Patient throughput optimization
• Coordinate and mentor Epic analysts and junior team members.
• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with operational and executive stakeholders.
• Develop functional specifications, workflow documentation, and testing strategies.
• Lead integrated testing, UAT coordination, issue resolution, and go-live support activities.
• Collaborate with application teams including:
  • Ambulatory
  • Resolute
  • MyChart
  • Grand Central
  • HIM
  • Revenue Cycle
• Ensure compliance with organizational governance, Epic standards, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
• Support incident management, change management, and production support activities.
• Participate in on-call support rotation as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of Epic application experience in healthcare environments.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting:
  • Epic Cadence
  • Epic Prelude
• Previous Lead Analyst or senior-level Epic analyst experience.
• Epic Cadence Certification required.
• Epic Prelude Certification required.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Patient access workflows
  • Scheduling operations
  • Registration processes
  • Insurance and eligibility workflows
  • Revenue cycle integration
• Experience leading implementations, upgrades, and optimization initiatives.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and workflow redesign skills.
• Experience working within complex integrated healthcare systems or hospital environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within large healthcare systems or public healthcare organizations.
• Additional Epic certifications such as:
  • Grand Central
  • Referrals
  • MyChart
  • Resolute
• Experience with Epic reporting tools and operational dashboards.
• Prior experience mentoring or leading analyst teams.
• PMP, ITIL, or Agile certifications are a plus.
